Features

Private Digital Room

Each purchase gives you one private digital room and its Owner Key. The room stays under your control until it expires, you destroy it, or you revoke your guest.

Separate Owner & Guest Keys

You keep the Owner Key. Guests receive separate access, so ownership is never shared.

Revocable Guest Access

One guest at a time. Revoking a guest deletes the room and its messages from our servers and signs both of you out. It cannot reach the other person's device — anything already saved in their browser remains there. Your Owner Key stays valid: open a new room and issue a new Guest Key whenever you want.

No Account Required

No traditional signup, username, password, or social profile. Your keys are your access.

No Phone Number

Start a private conversation without exchanging phone numbers or exposing personal contact details.

Zero-Knowledge Encryption

Messages and media are end-to-end encrypted between participants. Burner Room cannot read the conversation.

Disappearing Messages

Choose how long messages remain visible before they automatically disappear.

View-Once Pictures

Send pictures that can only be opened once before they disappear from the room.

Images, Stickers, GIFs & Reactions

Share images, stickers and GIFs, and react to messages without leaving the private room.

Live Presence

See how many participants are currently active in the room before sending sensitive information.

Immutable Once Seen

A message can no longer be edited after the other person has seen it.

Auto-Lock

The chat locks when you leave the screen, switch tabs, or move away from the conversation.

Visible Room Expiry

Set the room lifetime and watch the live countdown. The timer warns you at five minutes and turns red during the final minute.

Destroy for Everyone

Use your private owner-defined command to close the room, invalidate every key, and remove the conversation for all participants.

How it works

1
Buy a Private Room

Purchase one private digital room with a one-time payment. Buy additional rooms whenever you need separate conversations.

2
Save Your Owner Key

Your Owner Key is shown only once. Store it somewhere safe—it controls the room and cannot be recovered.

3
Create the Room

Use the details of how to create the room shown after purchase

4
Invite and Stay in Control

Share the Guest Key—not your Owner Key. One guest at a time. Revoking a guest deletes the room and its messages from our servers and signs both of you out. It cannot reach the other person's device — anything already saved in their browser remains there. Your Owner Key stays valid: open a new room and issue a new Guest Key whenever you want.

Important

Your Owner Key is shown only once. Save it somewhere private and secure.

Never share your Owner Key. It controls the room, guest access, expiry, and complete destruction.

Share only the generated Guest Key with the person you want to invite.

If you lose your Owner Key, Burner Room cannot recover, reset, or replace it.

Questions

Frequently asked

You receive an Owner Key for one private room. The Owner Key controls guest access, room settings, expiry, and complete room destruction.
The Owner Key controls the room. Guest Keys only allow invited participants to enter. Never share the Owner Key with a guest.
Not at the same time. A room holds one guest. One guest at a time. Revoking a guest deletes the room and its messages from our servers and signs both of you out. It cannot reach the other person's device — anything already saved in their browser remains there. Your Owner Key stays valid: open a new room and issue a new Guest Key whenever you want.
No. Only the room purchaser pays. Guests enter using the Guest Key provided by the owner.
No. Burner Room does not require a traditional account, username, phone number, contact list, or permanent social profile.
No personal identity is used as the room owner. The Owner Key is the proof of control, and guests cannot see who purchased the room.
Your identity is not shown to guests or attached to the room inside Burner Room. Your payment provider and bank may still retain normal payment records.
It cannot be recovered or reset. Store it somewhere safe, just as you would store a personal access token or recovery key.
Yes, and you should know what it costs. One guest at a time. Revoking a guest deletes the room and its messages from our servers and signs both of you out. It cannot reach the other person's device — anything already saved in their browser remains there. Your Owner Key stays valid: open a new room and issue a new Guest Key whenever you want.
A Guest Key is a bearer credential. Anyone who obtains a valid Guest Key may be able to enter, so share it only with the intended person and revoke it if you believe it has been exposed.
Yes. Messages and supported private media are encrypted between participants so Burner Room cannot read the contents of the conversation.
It means Burner Room does not hold the secret needed to decrypt the contents of your conversation. Operational metadata required to run the service may still exist.
No. Messages can be configured to disappear, and the room itself can also have an expiry. When the room ends, its chat data and access are destroyed within Burner Room.
Yes. Undelivered messages can remain available for up to 7 days. After that, they expire and cannot be retrieved.
Room expiry is optional and selected when the room is created. A visible countdown shows the time remaining, turns orange during the final 5 minutes, turns red during the final minute, and displays a dismissible warning before the room closes.
The room closes automatically, active access is invalidated, and the room's chat data is permanently removed within Burner Room.
Yes. The owner can choose a private destruction keyword. When the owner issues that command, the room, chat, keys, and active access are destroyed for both owner and guests.
No. Complete room destruction is irreversible. Neither the owner, guests, nor Burner Room can reopen the destroyed room.
A message may be edited only before the other person has seen it. Once seen, it becomes immutable and cannot be rewritten.
Yes. The active participant indicator shows how many people are currently present in the room.
Yes. Burner Room supports images, view-once pictures, stickers, GIFs, and message reactions.
Yes. Auto-lock can protect the conversation when you switch tabs, leave the screen, or move away from the room.
The unlock PIN protects access on your current device. It is separate from the shared room passphrase and should not be shared with the other participant.
Destroying the room closes, clears all the data including chat conversation, any other stored information in the browser.
No service can fully prevent someone from capturing what appears on their device. Only invite people you trust with sensitive information.

Privacy note

Burner Room does not require a phone number, email address, contact list, permanent profile, or traditional account. Each room is controlled by an Owner Key, while the guest receives a separate Guest Key.

One guest at a time. Revoking a guest deletes the room and its messages from our servers and signs both of you out. It cannot reach the other person's device — anything already saved in their browser remains there. Your Owner Key stays valid: open a new room and issue a new Guest Key whenever you want.

Conversations are end-to-end encrypted and designed to disappear according to message and room settings. Burner Room cannot recover a lost Owner Key or restore a room after it has expired or been destroyed.

Payments are processed by our payment provider. Burner Room does not use your payment identity as your room identity, and guests cannot see who purchased the room. Anyone with a valid Guest Key may be able to enter, so share guest access only with people you trust.
